Manifesto (written for March 2014 election):

I believe that my passion and commitment to UKOUG are well proven with over 12 years volunteering with the organisation and during this time I have introduced initiatives with Oracle Development for applications, regional conferences for Ireland and Scotland, worked with Oracle Middleware communities, and represented UKOUG in the wider Oracle community, globally winning Oracle Magazine User Group Evangelist in 2008. I was deputy chair from 2007 – 2011, Then Chairman and President through to 2012.

In the last year I have led the Applications, Applications Transformation, Ireland working parties and am also working with Oracle and our members on how we engage the next generation of Oracle professional. I have also assisted Fiona Martin with Strategy, and on other initiatives such as Project Evo. You can read more about what I do in my blog.

Last year when UKOUG needed clear leadership and renewed governance I stepped up to rejoin the board to help deliver the Project EVO (evolution of UKOUG) requirements approved by the members. Changes are having the right affect and we delivered excellent conferences for our members alongside great SIGs and online content, but this is not a one off exercise and we need to continue this work.

I believe I am very approachable and have worked with many of the community groups within UKOUG and also spoken at many SIGs and conferences both within UKOUG and the wider global community.

I no longer work for a partner and am starting to work for myself, so I am remaining within the Oracle Economy and although I feel I have always included the voice of the independent in my representation, I will now be one myself.

Current elected term: March 2016 - March 2018
