BI Adoption

Time: 10:55 AM - 11:35 AM

Track: Track 1

Getting your business to embrace Business Intelligence can be a challenging thing to achieve. User adoption is a complex issue which often hinges more on human and behavioural aspects than on the technology itself. Unfortunately, a highly functional and great looking suite of dashboards along with some pre-launch training are rarely enough to ensure on-going value from your BI solution. Instead, it is important to think about where BI fits into your organisation and how BI analysis should integrate into its wider operational processes. Without this, there is a risk that your BI solution, whilst providing valuable insight, may result in dead-end analysis. In this presentation, we will take a look at some of the key elements that need to be addressed in getting your BI solution adopted and investigate the reasons why BI implementations can sometimes fall short at the final hurdle. From this, we will look at the Oracle BI 11g platform and see how it will help to bring the Business closer to its Intelligence by making BI an integral part of everyday business operations.
