The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are set to be the largest and highest profile events that the city has hosted in living memory, dwarfing the Festival of Britain and the 1948 Games.

While the 2012 Games will undoubtedly generate excitement and bring economic benefit to the capital, this will also present London and the UK with a huge transport challenge.
