Improving Java Application Performance and Availability with UCP and the new WebLogic GridLink Data Source
In this session Simon will recap on how RAC, Oracle Notification Service (ONS) and the Universal Connection Pool (UCP) all fit together. UCP improves load distribution and resilience during planned and unplanned node failures. It can be used by Java applications whether they are standalone, running on an application server or servlet container such as Tomcat, or deployed to WebLogic Server/Exalogic. Simon will also talk about some of the latest improvements in this area, including the new WebLogic GridLink Data Source (aka "Active GridLink for RAC" and not to be confused with "GridLink for RAC"!) and, time permitting, run a live demonstration
