Abstract

The focus of securing an Oracle database must be shifted in mind set to the focus of securing data. Generic software such as Oracles database needs to have security rules designed in. Standard government security checklists such  as the US DoD, CIS, SCORE and more all focus on generic hardening advice but say very little about securing your actual data assets. Pete will discuss this fundamental issue with the aim of getting everyone to focus their data security on the right goals and targets. Pete will detail some of the techniques to use, strategies to follows and also cover solutions available from Oracle for free with your license and also non-free Oracle solutions and third party offerings.
