The last few years have reported a number of high profile data breach stories which have not only impacted the brand and reputation of the organisations concerned but which have also led to a major review of the legislative and regulatory controls surrounding data security.
This talk will cover the new business drivers now focussing action in this area, the responsibility of company directors and audit committee chairman when signing off data security controls under the Data Protection Act & Human Rights Act and how independent controls in this space will protect IT professionals and management in the roles which they play.
Lindsay is Chief Executive of Cervello Consultants, an independent database security auditing company.
Lindsay has spoken at a number of data security events and conferences on the need for Database Activity Monitoring and Database Vulnerability & Configuration Management controls as part of an overall IT Risk Management strategy, and his work covers all areas of database controls from Financial Services to Corporate and Government / Public sector marketplaces.
