In today's increasingly complex IT deployments the challenge of diagnosing and resolving issues can be time consuming and costly. Often this is because the issue occurred some time before an administrator has had a chance to pull together the diagnostics necessary to analyse it, or they need to get a reproducible case to gather the diagnostics. The Fusion Middleware 11g Diagnostics Framework looks to help reduce these pains.
This session will focus on how the Diagnostics Framework handles first-failure capture to automatically detect problems and gather diagnostics, into an incident report, immediately upon detection of the problem. It will also look at the types of diagnostics captured, the tooling to help you manage incidents, and how incident reports can help reduce resolution time when interacting with Oracle Support. At the end of the session delegates should have an appreciation for what incidents are, the tooling to manage them, and how to extend the Diagnostic Framework to capture incidents for customer specific issues.
