Data is a key asset for all organisations and businesses that needs to be kept safe and secure whether the organisation be a bank, an energy company, a retail business or a government department. It’s essential that organisations do there utmost to ensure that their data is kept safe and secure.
This session will look at what a DBA can do to help in this by looking at the threat posed by staff that aren’t application end-users such as DBAs, application support staff, developers etc. commonly know as Privileged Users (PUs). This will cover both prevention and detection. Also included is how to make this manageable and not become a large staffing overhead.
Topics covered with include database auditing, the problem with passwords, using Oracle OID with proxy accounts, centralised management and reducing the attack surface.
