Oracle 12c is now widely available, with all the incredible options it brings to the table, but outside of the new features some core questions remain for the DBA charged with looking after these installations, like, what If you lose your primary database for a day or even an hour due to a disaster? What would the impact to your business be? Would you lose money, clients or your reputation?
You may have backups - or even a standby database in place - but how do you answer these hard questions:
- Have you tested this standby database and is it being monitored?
- Is your disaster recovery plan in place and fully tested?
- What about change control and SLA's?
In this presentation we will raise awareness of and discuss these questions, to better understand what needs to be covered to ensure your 12c primary database is protected. Topics covered include: how you can achieve higher availability using DR options, 12c and Standby Databases using Data Guard, Flashback Database, RMAN and 12c Standard Edition environments.
