Married with two boys. Love looking at technology and seeing how it can be turned to address a problem.

What is your goal in life?
Use my skills and knowledge to help those around me & ensure my wife and children get the best I can offer.

What are your interests (in work and outside)?
When not engrossed with technology & I love my music, a well written book and photography.

When did you first start volunteering with UKOUG?

Why did you want to become a UKOUG volunteer?
The true value of knowledge is in sharing it. What better way to share knowledge.

What volunteering activates do you undertake?
Article reviewing for Oracle Scene & presented a couple of times for the Middleware SIG.

What does a day of volunteering involve for you?
When the submission date closes for the next edition of Oracle Scene, the submissions are shared with the review team & then I read through a couple of  articles each day over about a week. We provide feedback & any suggestions if appropriate. SIG presentations require a bit more investment of effort, but often achieved by exploiting things I've written for work or my blog.

Which volunteer contribution are you proudest of?
1st presentation for the middleware SIG.

What is the best thing about volunteering?
opportunity to see Oracle Scene articles early

What’s most rewarding about Volunteering?
The belief that my contributions will have helped others.
