Below you will find an explanation of the voting process for the UKOUG Partner of the Year Awards 2013/14. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Anna at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Nomination and selection process
1. Partners will submit their nomination entries online. This will consist of answering 4 questions for each nomination category.
2. Once nominations have closed. An adjudication panel comprised of SIG committee members and Board/Council representatives (excluding anyone who has worked for a Partner in the past 5 years) will review the nominations and select the Partners that will go through to the final user vote. The adjudication will happen during the week commencing 7th June 2013. This selection process will be done by awarding points from 1-6 to the top 6 nominees in each category. This will provide a short-list of 6 Partner companies in each voting category, based on the highest scores awarded by the adjudicators.
3. Once the short-lists for each category have been selected, voting will commence on the 5th July 2013 and close on 13th September 2013.
1. Short-listed Partners can only be voted for by Oracle users who are recognised as end users with UKOUG (these can be UKOUG members or non-members) and will not include Partner/third party organisation votes. Valid work email required i.e. Hotmail, Gmail, me.com email addresses will not be accepted.
2. Voters can select up to three nominees per category, to which they can assign either Bronze, Silver or Gold level. Each nominee can only receive one ranking per category and each level can only be assigned once per category. There are a maximum of three final places for each category. A different Partner must be selected for each of the three final places. Voters do not have to use all of their votes.
3. The following points will be awarded to each vote:
- Gold: 6 points
- Silver: 3 points
- Bronze:1 point
4. Voters must vote for a different company for the Gold, Silver and Bronze place for each award category.
5. Voters must provide a valid company email address. Each person can only vote once.
6. Partners must achieve a total number of votes which is 33% or greater than the maximum number of valid votes cast in their category to go through to the top 3 companies in the final stage (e.g. Company A has 200 discrete votes – not points - cast for it, Company B has 100, Company C has 66 & D has 65 – Company D is eliminated for not achieving the 33% threshold of cast votes)
7. After voting closes, the average points (i.e. dividing number of points by number of voters) on each category) are calculated and the Partner with the highest average points wins. Average is important – at this point, number of votes is not important, this is to prevent favouritism of large organisations.
8. In the event of a tie, the Partner with the smallest range of votes (i.e. most consistent votes) wins.
