29 October 2013
Two weeks ago our first Apps13 Conference took place at The Brewery in London.
This was the first year that we split the conference into Apps13 and Tech13 rather than a combined annual conference. The turnout exceeded expectations with more than 1000 registered delegates over the three days.
Apps13 was all about ‘Connecting Communities, Connecting Experiences’ and the event really proved this with an engaging agenda covering Hyperion & EPM, CRM, PeopleSoft, Oracle E-Business Suite, Business Intelligence as well as new streams , Applications Transformation, Business & Strategy and Executive. With presentations from Oracle Keynotes, Oracle ACE’s, partners and users there was something on the agenda for everyone.
As well as three days of learning, Apps13 also provided a buzzing exhibition hall full of Oracle suppliers who hosted prize draws, activities and the chance to compare products and services. Delegates enjoyed relaxing after a day of sessions at the evening social events which included Tuesday’s Motown Magic social, that offered a live band, cocktails, photo and karaoke booths as well as cheering England on in the football. Photos from the social events can be found here.
Throughout the day there was lively chatter about the event on Twitter with attendees using the hashtag #ukoug_apps13 to tweet their feedback.
