23 June 2017
Last week the hot topic of conversation was not only the tropical temperatures in the UK but the latest developments with EPM & Hyperion products.
Oracle professionals gathered for the leading industry event UKOUG EPM & Hyperion 2017 with some who were staying overnight or were local to the venue attending the pre event Meeup the night before.
The fabulous Sandown Park Racecourse in Surrey was the setting for this educational day which commenced with a keynote from Oracle’s Rich Wilkie and Al Marciante, who presented on the EPM Strategy and Roadmap.
Hot news from the day: Hyperion on-premise premier support extended. 11.1.23 to May 2018, 126.96.36.199 to Dec 2020
Paul Johnson from Qubix International was our second keynote. He shared his views on transforming the world of Finance with AI and Machine Learning – the key is Change! He gave advice on how to prepare for the radical transformation these tools will enable and what you need to know to be ready from Algorithms to knowing your strategic opportunities.
Attendees had the flexibility to create their own learning path on the day with three tracks of content offered: Customer Case Studies, Product Knowledge, Best Practice and for those who wanted a more formal instructor led session, Keyteach held two sessions on Jython scripting for FDMEE & PBCS.
Presenter Trent Kinghorn said “It was an absolute pleasure to present the Old Mutual plc client story about our journey to Oracle's Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service. Thank you to those that were there and saw Jay Verma from the The Hackett Group and myself tell the story of our rapid implementation and move the cloud.”
Throughout the day users benefited from the knowledge of noteworthy vendors and product experts presenting on latest updates and trends and gained more skills and a refreshed perspective to apply to the workplace. The formal part of the event rounded off with Q&A panel session which was then followed by a fun and racing themed evening social, where delegates took the opportunity to discuss what was learned throughout the day and take part in a flutter or two!
We’d like to thank all those that attended the day and the speakers and exhibitors for supporting UKOUG events and of course the committee who volunteered their time to put together a fantastic event.
