Many thanks to our Oracle Applications Community

Many thanks to our Oracle Applications Community

10 June 2014

Stream by stream. The agenda of this year’s UKOUG Applications Conference is coming together.

We've had a fantastic response to call for papers and want to say a huge 'thank you' to the entire Oracle Applications community. Whether you submitted or judged a paper, blogged about it or simply mentioned it to someone, it all helped!

We received more papers than ever before which a real testament to the strength and commitment of our community.

On Friday 6th June 2014 the Apps14 committee and UKOUG staff joined together at Oracle offices in London for the Apps14 Agenda Planning Day.

The conference is taking place at the beginning of December and is purely devoted to Oracle Applications users.

After an outstanding call for papers response, the abstracts were reviewed by judges and there were some tough decisions made in order to create a new and exciting agenda.

As you would expect, Apps14 will offer 3 days of world-class education for IT professionals and practitioners. There will be 10 streams filled with: case studies, real life experiences, updates from Oracle, roundtables for hands-on learning, and countless opportunities to build relationships with a community of Oracle experts and peers. Apps14 will be focusing on 4 themes: Analytics, Cloud, Social & Mobile

What presentations made their way to the agenda?

The aim was to create an agenda that will appeal to both those looking at it from a product perspective to those that are approaching it from their daily role and bring it all together in order to make this conference a must attend event for anyone who is working in the Applications world of Oracle.

The committee were split into different product streams according to which area they were specialised in. It was important for the committee members to:

  • Take the results from the online judging
  • Make sure attendees with different skill levels have sessions of interest in each area
  • Have a good variety of presenters ranging from end users who have a story to share, through to high level industry experts and Partner solutions
  • Work out the ‘flow’ of the sessions whilst making sure that there are no clashes

As you can see putting together our Applications Conference agenda really is down to the efforts of our members. Thank you all!

Please note - If you have submitted a paper for this conference, you will be notified if your paper has been selected by July.
