Last week our annual UKOUG JD Edwards Conference & Exhibition took place at the Heythrop Park Resort in Oxfordshire. With nearly 300 registered delegates the event was a great success.
"The JD Edwards Conference is a great opportunity to share knowledge, thoughts and ideas with other members of the JDE community."
Jane Leahy, Norgine
The two day event kicked off with an opening keynote presentation on the latest business and technology trends from Lyle Ekdahl, Senior Vice President of Oracle JD Edwards. Following the keynote presentation the new for 2014, 'Knowledge Bites' sessions kicked off - short punchy 30 minute sessions covering JD Edwards content on the cloud. Change Management, E-Commerce and much more. The six stream agenda packed with JD Edwards content gave attendees a great variety of choice when it came to learning and expanding their knowledge on JD Edwards.
An exciting addition to this year's conference was a helicopter as the first 100 delegates were all entered into a prize draw to win a helicopter ride at the conference, courtesy of Beoley Mill Software. During the first coffee break of the day it was "chocks away!" for the prize winners as they were treated to breathtaking views of the picturesque venue and Oxfordshire countryside.
Throughout the breaks, delegates had the chance to network and visit the lively exhibition which provided a hall full of Oracle suppliers who hosted prize draws, activities and the chance to compare products and services.
This year's Guest Speaker, James Woodhusyen, Professor of Forecasting & Innovation at De Montford University joined us on Wednesday afternoon for his thought proving session on innovation for the future.
Wednesday evening was rounded off with a 'Through the Years' themed social where delegates had the chance to have some drinks, network, play on some old-school arcade games and take part in the interactive 'exhibitor challenge' game.
Day two provided delegates with even more insightful JD Edwards presentations ranging from a keynote session from Gary Grieshaber and Tim Scott, more 'Knowledge Bites' sessions, user experiences and a live Q&A session with John Schiff. The conference concluded with a game card draw where lucky delegates won prizes such as a trip to Malaga, laptops and champagne generously donated by our exhibitors.
We'd like to say a big thank you to all of our sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and conference committee for their support of JDE14, without whom the conference would not be possible.
