The JD Edwards Product Development team at Oracle are joining forces with UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG) to crowd source ideas for product enhancements. Suggestions for innovative product developments will be generated by an "Ideathon" competition hosted at UKOUG JD Edwards Conference & Exhibition 2016. The event will take place at the ICC, Birmingham between 5th and 7th December.
JD Edwards analysts, finance managers, application developers and IT managers are invited to collaborate and submit their ideas to the Oracle JDE Executive Team to be considered as a workable implementation within the next version of the product.
The partnership between UKOUG and the ERP solutions provider is the first of its kind within the UK and presents a unique offering for the user community to have a direct effect on the way consumers use Oracle’s JD Edwards applications. Lyle Ekdahl, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Oracle JD Edwards said: "My team and I are looking forward to participating in this unique and exclusive competition as part of UKOUG JDE16.
We started using the Ideathon concept internally a little over a year ago and the yield in ideas and tangible new capability has paid huge dividends for the JD Edwards product. Idea proposals should be submitted online by 09:00 (GMT) 28th November, and a shortlist of entries will be invited to present at UKOUG JD Edwards Conference & Exhibition 2016 on 7th December when the winner will be announced live by Oracle's Executive JD Edwards Team.
The panel will choose the winning entry based on:
- The level of creativity & innovation within the solution
- It’s business problem definition
- Potential use of the solution for other customers/end users
UKOUG JD Edwards Conference & Exhibition 2016 (JDE16) is the largest gathering of Oracle JD Edwards professionals in the UK and each year strives to maintain and expand a community of JDE professionals, offering a forum to share stories, insights and business solutions. Leading experts in Mobility, IoT, Cloud, Business Analytics, Reporting and Training will make presentations and lead demonstrations and roundtables on how to utilise current JD Edwards software as well as the impact Cloud will have on the users of the product.
