v. buzzed, buzz·ing, buzz·es v.intr.- To make a low droning or vibrating sound like that of a bee or to talk, often excitedly, in low tones. We refer to the later. At this year’s conference a combination of inspiring presentations, fresh faces and increased delegate numbers led to an energetic JD Edwards buzz, and it was noticed!
“This was the best JDE conference for the last few years. There was a real buzz about the place.” Alan Kerr, Velos IT
“A combination of a more compact venue and increased attendance meant that there was a bit of a buzz at this year’s JDE conference.” Peter Ling
UKOUG saw just under 300 delegates passing through the doors at the UK's largest independent JD Edwards Conference [9th - 10th November, Madejski Stadium, Reading] into the modern venue for two days of JD Edwards filled content. It cannot be disputed that this conference was the highlight of 2011 for the JD Edwards user community.
“The fact that this was the most successful conference in years shows that the JDE Community in the UK is alive and well.” David Rowntree
The jam packed agenda gave delegates a plethora of options to help with their personal development and organisational growth. Martin Gater from Norgine said, “The agenda has been really strong this year, the difficulty has been choosing between parallel sessions taking place at the same time. “
Many thanks to Chris Walsh who did a great job stepping in for an unwell Lyle Ekdahl, and to all the other volunteers who presented at the conference over the two days. The quality of material and insight coming from the presentations was outstanding.
Alongside the presentations the chance to network with like minded individuals over coffee or a spot of lunch was taken full advantage off by attendees, providing them with a forum to swap stories and learn from one another.
“The event has been very useful for me as an independent, finding out what really goes on, meeting new people and networking.” Adewale Lawal, Perscitus Solutions Limited
“As a first time attendee to the conference, I have found it to be invaluable for learning about current and future trends, and customer experiences. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to network with other vendors and customers. I will definitely be back next year!” Roland Bullivant, Sales Manager, Silwood
Guest speaker – Graham Poll
Attendees were energized at the end of the day guest speaker Graham Poll, whose engaging presentation focused on the importance of having a good team around you, and was filled with amusing anecdotes of his experiences as a professional referee.
"Having attended many business conferences in many different areas, it was the sense of community at this event [UKOUG JD Edwards Conference] that impressed me." Graham Poll, Former Referee
UKOUG are happy to sign this event off as a great success and are looking forward to a little break before planning for 2012!
