Local Government Applications
Forming part of the E-Business Suite community those who work in local government can benefit from: SIGs; the Public Sector day; presentations in the annual Technology & E-Business Suite conference, the last being, UKOUG2011; and extensive online library as well as publications and fortnightly ebulletins.
Is this community for me?
The (Oracle Financials) Local Government Applications community is suited to: Local Government & Housing Sector Finance & Procurement Officers, IT Managers and system users tasked with supporting and developing the use of Oracle E-Business Suite within their authority.
It is an interactive group which aims:
- To encourage member participation and contribution for the benefit of the community as a whole, as well as providing a forum for the discussion of common problems and the sharing of experience with the implementation and use of Oracle Financials within Local Government.
- To provide a forum for the exchange of views , concerns and matters of interest between Local Government users and Oracle UK
- To influence the general direction of the UK Public Sector localisation programme (OPSF) and in particular to co-ordinate and prioritise enhancement requests specific to UK Local Government.
Our objectives are to enable member authorities;
- To maximise their investment in the Oracle EBS
- Tackle current issues & challenges such as CIS
- Reduce the cost of ownership of the applications for the benefit of Council Tax Payers and Tenants
- Share experience of resolving issues, implementing & enhancing Oracle EBS
- To provide a forum for the exchange of views, concerns and matters of interest between Local Government users and Oracle UK
- To update members on Oracle developments & new releases
- To develop members’ presentation & communication skills
- To enable members to develop their knowledge and understanding of the Oracle EBS.

Want to get involved?
We are constantly looking for speakers involved in Local Government who are prepared to share their experiences. Short punchy presentations are very welcome, including updates or a 20 minute “quickies”. If you or your authority has recently undertaken an implementation or upgrade we would like to share your experiences. Find out about presenting and how to engage with this group further.
