Is this community for me?
The Oracle Supply Chain & Manufacturing Special Interest Group seeks to represent the interests of companies and individuals who operate within a manufacturing or supply chain orientated environment. If Discrete or Process Manufacturing, Strategic Procurement, Tactical Purchasing, Inventory Management or Lean Enterprise culture is your thing, we aim to provide expert insight and user-experiences into Oracle's products and related technologies relevant to you. But don't expect to be lectured to. We aim to provide a forum for open discussion, sharing of experiences, as well as demonstrations of best practice and pitfalls to avoid.
Whilst the formal sessions at our meetings are important for all of the above, coffee and lunch breaks and breakout sessions provide an unrivalled opportunity to network with other professionals in this community. It’s the people who meet and find have similar issues and opportunities as you that really add value to attending our Special Interest Group.
The aims and objectives of Supply Chain & Manufacturing group are:
- To propagate the sharing of knowledge and best practise through formal and informal discussions and demonstrations/presentations.
- To further mutual learning of members by case study examples of implementations and the associated debate of key issues.
- To discuss, shape and contribute to the Oracle enhancement process.
- To include review of broader technology and business issues that has a direct bearing on manufacturing and Supply Chain e.g. Electronic Commerce/Web enablement, end-user Business Reporting and enquiry tools.
- Presentations will be from SIG community members and Oracle as a rule, although other software and service companies may also be approached from time to time but are encouraged to present with clients
