This Special Interest Group forms part of the Oracle Technology community. The offerings for users of Application Server & Middleware comprise of SIGs, presentations in the annual UK Oracle User Group Conference, an extensive online library as well as publications and fortnightly ebulletins.
Is this community for me?
The Applications Server and Middleware SIG is aimed at administrators of Oracle Application Server and Fusion Middleware products. It may also benefit enterprise architects by raising awareness of deployment options to meet the high availability, scalability and security requirements typically specified for modern call-centre and web application environments.
What we offer
We look to provide a mix of knowledge sharing of Oracle products in order to get the most from them, as well as looking ahead to new technologies that may enable our systems to work more effectively.
The SIG meetings discuss topics of interest to administrators of traditional Forms/Reports/Discoverer systems, Oracle Portal, as well as JEE(J2EE) applications developed using ADF/BC4J, Toplink and other frameworks.
We also cover management of the related infrastructure components such as Single Sign-On, Oracle Internet Directory and newer products such as BPEL and BAM.
Finally, upgrades and patching are an important part of the adminstrator's job and, with help from Oracle, we hope to keep you posted on the latest recommendations.
