Darren will talk about the off-loads that we have and are continuing to put into your HW in order to accelerate the Oracle DB and Java which are the foundation for many applications out there.

Darren is a Senior Principal Engineer in the Oracle Solaris Core Technologies group. He is one of the architects for Solaris Security, and has a focus on authentication, cryptography and application containment. He was also the architect and lead developer for the encryption functionality in ZFS. He joined Oracle as part of the Sun acquisition, where he was part of the Solaris development organisation. Prior to Solaris development Darren worked in SunService supported Trusted Solaris and other Solaris security functionality. Darren has also worked for the UK Ministry of Defence and is a graduate of the Computing Science department at the University of Glasgow (Scotland).

Simone Geib is Director of Product Management at Oracle Corporation where she leads Cloud Strategy and Product Management for Oracle SOA Suite, Real-Time Integration Business Insight and Cloud Connectivity. She is well known to customers and integration partners through her management of Oracle’s Service and Cloud Integration Customer Advisory Board and speaking engagements at Oracle Open World, User Group meetings and other gatherings. Before Simone joined Oracle, she worked extensively with integration technologies at BEA in Europe as a consultant, sales engineer, and product manager. She is now based at Oracle’s Redwood Shores headquarters and enjoys cycling along the San Francisco Bay.
