Oracle Solaris 11.3 is all about “more”, so now you have more flexibility and more security in your virtualisation. Terry Smith takes you through the new features at the 21st October SIG.

This October the UKOUG Solaris SIG will be hosting their monthly session at Bonhill House on Wednesday 21st at 18:00 (BST). Presenting on Oracle Solaris 11.3 will be Oracle’s Terry Smith who'll cover the new features and enhancements in 11.3 and in particular OpenStack and Live Migration for Kernel Zones. Following this will be an engaging networking session with plenty of time for you to ask any burning questions you may have surrounding Oracle Solaris 11.3.

About our speaker

Terry Smith is a consultant providing pre-sales support for the SPARC processor based range of systems at Oracle. Joining Oracle as part of the Sun acquisition, Terry has been in the combined organisation for over 20 years. With a wide range of experience in SPARC hardware - starting with the E10K in 1995, he was involved with the launch of the E15K in 2001 and the M-series launch in the UK back in 2005. More recently Terry has written the prototype for Dynamic Resource Management for the Logical Domain software as well as gaining experience of Chip-Multithreaded based systems and the virtualisation technologies used in them.
