PPTAccessibility in APEX - Attempting not to exclude

Published: 15.02.2010 - This document is restricted to members

Building accessible web applications is subjective. Subject to users with different types of disability, with different impairments, using different assistive technologies. It is therefore very difficult, if not impossible to build a completely accessible web application that will be 100% usable by all. What we can do as developers is be aware of what it means for a web application to be both accessible and usable for a majority of users and make our best effort to provision content that excludes as few as possible. APEX provides certain features and functionality that can help with this task. The focus of this session will be to show: - Why you should be thinking about accessibility, both from a business and a usability perspective. - How users of assistive technologies experience the web, what it means to them for a site to be truly usable and understand some of the common problems faced and how these can be addressed in APEX. - The relevant standards in place to help developers produce more accessible web applications and how APEX can help you comply. - Where applications built with APEX have some accessibility problems - How to test the accessibility of your applications.

Published: 15.02.2010 - This document is restricted to members

Sometimes your applications look not attractive enough? Why don't you create a nice looking chart for your client. But not a regular chart, an interactive one. If he clicks on the chart other things happen on the page! Other charts are moving, your report shows different data etc. This presentation will show you how you can extend APEX with the latest features of Anychart charting components. Ofcourse I'll include a live demo of a nice looking Interactive Dashboard with an Interactive Report. Once you click in the dashboard the Interactive Report will automatically filter as well.
