Upgrading from Xe to the 9's using OneWorld Menus

We will review the standard Oracle process for converting menus to solution explorer tasks along with the subsequent manual steps needed to produce a user interface that is both usable and familiar to your end users.

We will also review an automated process that is exclusive to ALL Out Security that can shave significant time from your overall upgrade timeframe while delivering a secure upgraded environment that your users will be able to start using immediately. Upgrading to Enterprise One 9.x from an older release of J.D. Edwards is a significant undertaking that can have a major impact on your business. In addition to application gap analysis, business process flow reviews, and code review and retrofit, you will need to review your security model. It is important that the security review be an integral part of your upgrade process to ensure you are getting the most out of your system. There are many options available to you for reviewing your security and user setup when upgrading. Virtually all consulting partners have strong technical resources that are available to assist you in this process. Unfortunately, many of them are not familiar with the steps and process to take your existing menu structure and convert it to solution explorer, much less how to streamline and automate the process. We will review the steps needed to take your users menus and convert them to the new task view format as part of an existing upgrade project to the 9's. We will review bh the standard methodology and a proprietary methodology developed by All Out Security. This document is intended as a high-level overview of the concepts, processes, and options involved in migrating users from a menu and group based JDE system to a task view and role based system. This process is platform and database agnostic. This document is NOT intended as, and should not be used as, a detailed guide to this process.
