22 November 2016

We spoke to Simone Geib - our UKOUG Technology Conference & Exhibition 2016 "Middleware" Community Keynote speaker - to find out why her session is a must attend, and whats going on within the industry.

Here's what she had to say:

What industry trends do you feel middleware engineer should be aware of?
Although many customers still have large on premises implementations, we are seeing a significant uptake in cloud projects, either pure cloud to cloud, or more often hybrid integrations with some applications in the cloud, and other applications on premises. In order to be successful with this modern IT architecture, you need an integration platform that meets customer demands faster and accelerates innovation.

Why do you feel User Group events are beneficial for attendees?
Oracle User Group events provide a unique mix of presentations by Oracle employees, partners and customers as well as hands on labs and round tables, which allow attendees to not only keep up to date with Oracle’s strategy, but also gain insight into how Oracle’s products actually work and how other customers are successfully using them.

Why have you picked this topic for your keynote presentation?
Almost every IT project includes some form of integration - with on premises applications, database, files or SaaS applications in the cloud. Choosing the right integration platform is essential for the success of those projects.

What three key takeaways will attendees gain from attending your session?
Attendees will learn about Oracle’s high productivity integration platform (iPaaS) in the cloud and how to increase agility and business responsiveness while at the same time lower costs and complexity and improve time to market.
