Paul Parsons gave this book 5 out of 5 stars

This book successfully combines a style which is easy to read with an accurate and detailed technical content. It is laid out well, with a good "Contents" and "Index" for easy reference. It would be useful to any budding or experienced Solaris 11 system administrator whether planning to take an exam or not. It covers both SPARC and x86 systems. The electronic version (on a CD at the back of the book) usefully includes 2 practice exams including answers and detailed explanations.

Massimo Vantini gave this book 4 out of 5 stars

The Oracle Solaris 11 Exam Guide provides a detailed and yet clear explanation of the features of the Solaris 11 Operating System. Despite being geared mainly to the OCA exam, it also provides useful information about topics not currently covered by the exam objectives. Its succinct yet easy to understand style proved to be highly enjoyable. The book encourages you to focus on understanding the Operating System features rather than providing a huge amount of information for the sole purpose of passing the exam. In this respect, it is a welcome change.
