How Using the Secure External Password (SEP) Helped to Secure Scheduled OS Jobs

3 March 2016

Peter Webb, Link Financial

Date: 21st April 2016

Time: 13:00 - 13:45

Track: Database Server

OS scheduled tasks are required to make connections to the database to perform some scheduled task from a shell script or windows batch script (for example). A side effect is that this can leave valuable database connection details accessible and exposed on the server. I employed Secure External Passwords (SEP) to create an oracle wallet to secure these connection details from prying eyes.
