Best Practices For Large Oracle Apps R12 Implementations

Imagine an Oracle Applications R12 environment with 8 Node middle tier and 16 Node RAC database tier of 40+ TB size with a yearly growth of 2 TB and a couple of external self services application servers. The session is about sharing the knowledge on few best practices that should be adopted in our large Oracle Apps Environment that helps us proactively manage certain areas of manageability. The session is about the best practices to be adopted on the middle tier and the database tier.
 
Lessons Learned From Our R12 Upgrade Project

Santos is one of Australia's leading gas producers and has been supplying Australian and Asian customers since 1969. The company has a significant and growing EBS footprint including Finance, Human Capital Management, Supply Chain Management and Enterprise Asset Management. This presentation will cover our approach to and lessons learned from a number of EBS projects in the last 3 years, including; R12 upgrade - from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3 in October 2011; EAM implementation - Maximo replacement project, phased go live February to August 2013; WMS implementation - phased go live February to June 2014; RPC1 upgrade/patching project - scheduled for go live in September 2014.
 
Reading Borough Council’s Journey to Cloud (Fusion) Financials & Procurement

Reading Borough Council have been interested in Fusion Applications and the value it could deliver them since before it was released and took an active part in system validation with development. We saw the value in moving our financials and procurement to Fusion based on the superior user experience. This is not a co-existence model, it is a replacement of EBS. This presentation looks at the journey for Reading and how we made our assessment and decisions around Fusion Applications and the journey to go-live.

Cairn Energy Energises the Finance Function with InsightUnlimited On Demand Inquiries

Find out how the company was able to empower the Finance team to gain instant access to business answers without having to rely on IT. With InsightUnlimited Cairn Energy has reduced month-end close cycle by 4 days and reduced their monthly reporting procedures by 10 man days. Cairn was able to seamlessly upgrade to R12 in 2012, reducing the duration and cost of the upgrade project. The company is planning to use InsightUnlimited Designer Express, a design tool, to report over custom HR tables so they can gain visibility into employee demographics, productivity and compensation data.
 
Segregation of Duties Analysis with ConfigSnapshot

Ensuring segregation of duties (SoD) is a key part of fraud prevention and required for companies subject to Sarbanes Oxley. This presentation describes how ConfigSnapshot was used to define the rules for SoD at an end user and how it was implemented globally.
