Over 200 attendees visited the Radisson Blu Hotel, for Scotlands largest one day OUG event. Once again the event was a huge success, with delegates leaving with alot more knowledge to take back to the office.

OUG Scotland 2016 - Temp bannerOn the 22nd June, OUG Scotland 2016 hit up the big city of Glasgow – bringing delegates to the stylish and spacious Radisson Blu Hotel for a day jam packed with fantastic networking opportunities & insightful educational sessions.

ougscot16Starting the day with two keynotes – delegates were privy to an apps session with Rob Harrison, and a tech based session from Penny Avril (both Oracle). “The keynote was really good, even though all of the content wasn’t relevant to my business it had some really useful database insights” Gary Miller, Sellafields Ltd. Focusing on the next generation of data management, Penny’s engaging and insightful presentation was a definite highlight of the day; and with Rob’s insights into the move to the cloud, his session on “Survive of Thrive: Accelerate Your Digital Transformation” was one not be missed

ougscot16With six fantastic streams of content covering: applications, apex, business analytics &EPM, cloud, database and development – attendees picked up useful insights and handy hints and tips from speakers like Margaret Walsh (Oracle), Phil Wilkins (Specsavers), Grant Ronald (Oracle) and Jonathan Lewis (JL Computer Consultancy). “We didn’t attend last year as the agenda content wasn’t appealing to our business needs, however this year there is a much better agenda – I want to be in three rooms at once!” Michael, McConville, South Lanarkshire Council.

Not only did the day provide 36 educational sessions, but with a fantastic exhibition hall filled with 12 Oracle vendors ready to share their expertise – the networking breaks had an elating buzz. With freebies to collect and advise to obtain, the networking and exhibition breaks were full of exciting and engaging conversations between die hard delegates, vendors and new OUG Scotland attendees.

It was a great day had by all, with drinks shared over the social and some fantastic agenda content, delegates left with a lot more than just knowledge to take back to the office.
