UKOUG Database & RAC Cloud, Infrastructure & Availability SIG Thursday 8th June
Date: Thursday 8th June 2017
Time: 13:05 - 13:50
Abstract: When upgrading to Oracle Database 12c, DBAs and architects often wish to mitigate the risk of performance regression by implementing these features in a controlled and incremental manner. This session explains how to achieve this by introducing the most significant changes we’ve made to the Oracle Optimizer followed by an exploration of how these features can be controlled and constrained. The session also presents how the changes to the Optimizer can influence the way a system is managed though the upgrade process and throughout the development-to-production life-cycle.
